Utilizing the format of the artist-run apartment gallery, White Couch provides an intimate atmosphere, presenting work to a physically present + participatory audience. The exhibitions and lectures at White Couch deal with a range of topics, but with a special focus on the domestic and the insular.  The Couch seeks to question the rise of the apartment gallery as an alternative exhibition space.

Further, a major goal of the gallery is to promote a socially inclusive, cross-disciplinary dialogue among artists, writers, academics, scientists, engineers, and many other professionals, amateurs, hobbyists, and aspirational thinkers.

White Couch is founded and directed by Kristen Racaniello.

Projects are open by appointment Saturday-Monday.
